ModelTown Verified For builders and manufacturers

ModelTown Verified is a badge for builders whose key documents we have checked with the people who issued them. Buyers see it on your builder page and on every one of your model pages.

It's free while we launch the program. You can't buy it, and paying for other ModelTown services doesn't affect it.

See what buyers see

Example of a builder's model page on ModelTown, before and after verification. Listed today: builder status Listed, we haven't checked anything yet. Factory certification is builder-stated, and the state approval label and warranty are not provided, so buyers still have 3 questions to ask. After verification: builder status ModelTown Verified, with the date verified. Factory certification is confirmed with the issuer and dated, the state approval label and warranty are document reviewed and dated, with label number and warranty terms shown, so buyers get answers before they contact the builder. Example only: neither means a home is approved for a buyer's land.Example of a builder's model page on ModelTown, before and after verification. What to send

Send us the items below. Two of them only apply to some builders. A copy alone isn't enough: we check each item with whoever issued it.

  • Active business

Your business registration. We look it up in the registry where your business is registered.

  • Model certification

The certificate for each model you list, such as CSA A277, a state modular label, the HUD label or RVIA. We check it with whoever issued it.

  • Liability insurance

A certificate of liability insurance with ModelTown named as certificate holder. We confirm it with your insurance agent.

  • Written warranty

Your written warranty. We read it so buyers can see what it covers.

  • Contractor license

If you install homes on site

Your contractor license number. We check it in the state license lookup.

  • Professional liability

    If you sell house plans

Your professional liability insurance certificate. We confirm it with your insurance agent.

How it works

  1. Tell us you want to apply, using the button at the bottom of this page.

  2. Send us your documents.

  3. We check each one with whoever issued it.

  4. When every check passes, the badge goes on your builder page and your model pages.

  5. We check again every year, and sooner if something expires.

What it costs

It's free. There is no cost for qualifying builders and manufacturers.

You can't buy the badge

The badge only means something to buyers if it's earned. That's why:

  • Buying Showcased, Marketed or Powered products doesn't affect the badge.

  • Every builder goes through the same checks.

  • If something lapses or doesn't check out, the badge comes off until it's fixed.
